Effectiveness of a mailed reminder on the immunization levels of infants at high risk of failure to complete immunizations.

The Ohio Department of Health initiated a program of mailingan immunization reminder to the mothers of six-month-old childrenpredicted to be at high risk of failure to receive vaccinationsbased on birth certificate information. The evaluation resultsindicated a 50% gain in immunizations amongst children whoseparents received the letter when compared with those not receivingthe letter.
