ERRATA In: Subramanian SV, Chen JT, Rehkopf DH, Waterman PD, Krieger N. Racial disparities in context: a multilevel analysis of neighborhood variations in poverty and excess mortality among Black populations in Massachusetts. Am J Public Health. 2005;95:260–265. doi:10.2105/AJPH.2003.034132.

Two tables were formatted in a potentially misleading manner. The stub heads for 2 sections of TABLE 2—Odds Ratios and 95% Confidence Intervals for Fixed Parameters From Models 1, 2, and 3 Analyzing Neighborhood Heterogeneity in Associations Between Mortality, Race/Ethnicity, and Area Poverty: Massachusetts, 1989–1991 (p263) should have been formatted as follows (presenting only the heads, as the data do not change):

Individual-level predictors
Interaction effect
    Male x 15–24 y
    Black x 15–24 y
    Other x 15–24 y
    Male x 25–44 y
    Black x 25–44 y
    Other x 25–44 y
    Male x 45–64 y
    Black x 45–64 y
    Other x 45–64 y
    Male x ≥ 65 y
    Black x ≥ 65 y
    Other x ≥ 65 y
    Male x Black
    Male x Other
Cross-level interaction effect (individual race and CT poverty)
Black x 5%–9.9% poverty
Black x 10%–19.9% poverty
Black x 20%–100% poverty
Other x 5%–9.9% poverty
Other x 10%–19.9% poverty
Other x 20%–100% poverty

Note that the reference row for White x 0%–4.9% poverty should have been deleted.

The stub heads in TABLE 3—Random Parameters at the Census Tract (CT) and Bl\ ock Group (BG) Levels From Models 1, 2, and 3 Analyzing Neighborhood Heterogeneity in Associations Between Mortality, Race/Ethnicity, and Area Poverty: Massachusetts, 1989–1991 (p264) should have been formatted as follows:

    Constant/constant ({sigma}2{nu}0) 0.095 (0.005) 0.085 (0.005) 0.066 (0.004)
