ERRATUM In: Nepomnyaschy L, Reichman NE. Low birthweight and asthma among young urban children. Am J Public Health. 2006; 96:1604–1610.

The reference category for mother’s age was improperly reported in the text. On page 1605, the third sentence in the second paragraph of the "Measures" section should read: "The demographic characteristics (all taken from the mother’s baseline interview) included categorical variables for the mother’s age (younger than 20 years, 20–34 years [the reference category], and 35 years or older). . . ."

A table on page 1607 was printed with incorrect P values. Correct values (in boldface type) for TABLE 2—Multilevel Model Estimates of Associations Between Low Birthweight and Asthma Diagnosis are:

Model 3
Model 4

The article’s conclusions are unaffected by these corrections.
