Prevalence of HIV Infection Among Young Adults in the United States: Results From the Add Health Study
Am J Public Health 2006; 0: AJPH.2004.054759v1
[Abstract][PDF]
I suggest testosterone levels are directly involved in HIV infection
rates. Testosterone is proven to increase infection rates of some viruses
in other animals. Black males produce significantly more testosterone
than while males, (J Natl Cancer Inst 1986; 76: 45), and black females
produce more testosterone than white females, (J Clin Endocrin Metab 1996;
81: 1108).
I suggest the differentiating factor in this study is testosterone
level.
